Flowers/ Plants, and Gardens
Liriodendron tulipifera, commonly known as the tulip tree, American tulip tree, tuliptree, tulip poplar or yellow poplar. The tulip tree is one of the largest of the native trees of the eastern United States, known to reach the height of 190 feet (58 m), with a trunk 10 feet (3 m) in diameter; its ordinary height is 70 feet (21 m) to 100 feet (30 m).
I took these photos of tulip tree flowers just before I planted my own tulip tree two springs ago. I planted a little tulip tree on my front yard. it was about three feet high, has just two thin something I couldn't even call as tree branches, very unhappy looking baby-tree. Now it is twice of my high. I am anxiously awaiting to see my first ever  tulip tree flowers this spring, and photograph them of course!
